September News

I have an exciting month coming up!

Several months ago I joked on my facebook fan page that I should go to Ireland to do research for my upcoming Boston Dragon Novels. After all, the first book begins in Ireland and my characters (and thus my readers) make trips back and forth throughout.

So I mentioned it as a joke. Then I realized I've been to almost every place I've set a book. Just soaking up the atmosphere for a week or so and picking up details of special places helps make my novels richer as a result.

Yeah, so the joke was on me. My readers began their per pressure campaigns. 'You should go!' and 'Absolutely, you should check it out!' I mentioned this to my dear daughter, whom I call Little Miss Amazing, and she said, "That's next on my bucket list!"

Well, we haven't had a long mother-daughter trip since she was 12 and I took her back to Colorado to show her where she was born. We spent a week, saw more than I did in the two years I lived there, and had a ball. We're close anyway--more like friends, now that she's an adult--so it should be a lot of fun.  Someone (I can't remember who) said 'Never travel with someone you don't love.' Good advice. I've done that too. Ugh.

We're both so excited we can hardly stand it! I'll have loads of pictures to share with my facebook fans when I get back! If you want to see them, just 'like' my page and begin following the posts soon.

And if that's not enough, I have a new release at the end of this month! Tug of Attraction will be coming out 9/28/15. It should be available for pre-orders soon. I'm donating 15% of my royalties to The Endometriosis Foundation of America. If you want to know more about this unspoken of disease, read the book! The heroine suffers from it, and that makes this an unusual romance. My editor said, "I love, love, love it!" I hope you will too!

August News

What happened to July?
I know...it went by in a blur of fun activities. I hope your summer is as entertaining as mine. Actually, I have a few plans for August too, but it shouldn't be quite as frantic.

Today, August 1st, I'll be enjoying a tea party at the home of the incomparable author Hannah Howell. I look forward to socializing with author friends I don't get to see a lot, and having my annual brownie! LOL Seriously, folks...someone brings the best brownies and they're my favorite food in the whole wide world.

Then it's business as usual (editing this, writing that, brainstorming another...) until Saturday, August 15th. Then I have a booksigning at Magika...a wonderful witch/new age shop in Salem, MA. It's perfect for signing my new release The Cupcake Coven. I'll have copies of my other paranormal books too.

If you're in the area, I hope you'll stop by!

On August 26th I'm blogging at the Casababes blog. http://www.casablancaauthors.blogspot.com.
I don't know what I'll write about yet, but chances are my mind will be on my upcoming trip to Ireland!
My daughter Little Miss Amazing and I are going to the Emerald Isle on August 29th. My September schedule might be late, because we'll be leaving Dublin for Galway on the 31st, and driving on the wrong side of the road! Wish us luck!!

And that's August, folks!

Breaking News!

The Cupcake Coven (a new and improved version) is being released this week! ARe (All Romance ebooks) has it here: click on this handy link or KOBO's link here or Bookstrand here
Amazon and B&N will follow shortly.

Because I took down my self-published version and gave it to an epublisher (only because I'm a terrible business person, and would rather write more books than keep track of sales, distribution, etc.) Amazon and B&N are making sure my publisher has the right to republish it. It's in their review process.

I'm actually glad these outlets make sure our books are legit. I've heard about some unscrupulous imposters stealing book's rights and republishing them under their own names. This is, of course, highly illegal. Copyright infringement carries a penalty of $250,000 and 5 years in jail. Don't even think about it! Readers do contact the book seller or author to report the book they already read and loved has popped up again--usually with a different cover.

My cover is the same as before. Because it's so unique I hope readers will recognize it as a book they've already bought. Although, if they want to buy the new version too, I won't be upset. (wink)
I love the new book. I paid for an editor before, but the new editor did an even better job. And she was paid for by the new publisher.

That's why I've decided I love traditional publishing instead of Indie publishing. I have a whole new appreciation for all the work a publisher does for me, and they take the financial risk! Yes, I give up some of the royalties, but as far as I'm concerned, they earn their share.

June News

I have only a couple of announcements this month.
I hope to attend the Rhode Island Romance Writers meeting 6/6. At least, it's on my calendar and that seems to be the trick to remembering things.

I'm blogging in two places on 6/13 Hey, it just worked out that way.

I'm working on a super secret project, which I hope to tell you all about soon. Stay tuned!

April News

What happened to March?
I think March was one of those months I trudged through with my head down. Finally...it's April! I hit my deadline of March 31st. The snow is beginning to melt (just beginning) and I have some cool new news for you!

Two books are edited and 'in the can'. One will be released by the end of spring. I don't have an exact date yet. I'll post it here as soon as I know. The other comes out on the first Tuesday in October. I may even have a third book coming out this year! Stay tuned!!

Easter is an annual tradition now. My number one fan and I go out for Easter brunch! This year her daughter is joining us. I'm looking forward to it as I always do. But this year brunch will be served in a library! I'll take pictures. Watch my facebook page for posts.

Later this month, I'll be boarding Air Canada and going to the first ever reader/writer conference in Canada! The event is called Romancing the Capitol and it takes place in Ottawa. (Which is the capitol of Canada. Get it?)

If you happen to be there (or near by) there's a big book signing open to the public on Saturday April 18th. I hope you'll stop in and say 'hi'! Maybe even get a cool new book signed by its author.

Other than my annual mamogram, that's about all I have scheduled for April. Have a great one, everybody!

Feb news

Yikes! it's halfway through Feb and I forgot to post this month's news. Oh well. No excuses. But if you were to ask why, I'd say, snow; travel; snow; deadlines; and more snow. (You gotta love New England.)

Anyway...There are a couple of important announcements to make.

First: Gods Gone Wild with the bonus story by Terry Spear will be going away at the end of this month. (Boo hoo.) But Dalton and I will see that it's republished with our two related novellas. Maybe we'll include some other bonus material. Stay tuned. We'll all be surprised later.

Next and not least: How to Date a Dragon is on sale from now until Feb 27th! Woo Hoo! This is the book that inspired a whole new series. Boston Dragons has been contracted by my mass market publisher Sourcebooks, and the fist book will be released Oct. 6th.

So, there's plenty of time to read it later, but you'll want to buy it now!! (To tell your friends, here's a handy pre-worded tweet with a link.)

Why not curl up with HOW TO DATE A DRAGON by @GoddessAsh $1.99 on @nookBN ow.ly/IYqmF

Thanks everyone! Stay warm!
